Blame It's my fault I wind him up. It's my fault He was drunk. It's my fault He loves me really. It's my fault He didn't mean to hurt me. It's my fault His tea should have been ready. It's my fault He doesn't like these clothes. It's my fault He is really sorry. It's my fault See, he's brought me flowers. It's my fault He won't do it again. He's promised me It's my fault.
It’s my fault

Not so funny this one. Not funny at all. Powerfully written…thanks for speaking out on this topic.

You are welcome. It is a subject that I feel very strongly about. I used to work in a job where I saw first hand, the suffering that ‘women (mostly) who are subject to abuse’ go through.
I agree that it is not a funny subject at all. Only occasionally do I post a serious poem like this. It probably has more impact that way.

Agreed. And most of us that have lively senses of humor carry and/or observe deep experiences. I think it’s why we need to laugh daily… certainly true for me. But joking doesn’t close my eyes to the tough stuff, just keeps me able to help. 🙂

Should be framed and placed in social centers worldwide. Deep psychological message.

I love the savagery of this; I’ve known a few women who’ve been abused and it saddens me they sometimes blame themselves instead of the vile contemptible men who abuse; fortunately society is not accepting such abuse any more 🙂

Well said. Society is getting better, but we still have a long way to go. Similarly with race relations and other equality issues! I could go on, but it is Christmas. 😂
