The nosy shrew
So shrewd was the shrew That he knew what to do When the source of the leak had been found, It wasn't a hole But a rascally mole, Rooting for worms in the ground.
Be glad for wildlife. They’re a sign we’re not completely f***Ed yet. That’s my take. Possums growl and get in the roof. Eagles take geese. Goannas steal ducklings and eggs. Cockatoos got all our hazelnuts. Annoying but proof that we haven’t totally upended the natural order.
Very cute! I havenโt seen a shrew in years. Havenโt had a mole hill in years either (knock on wood).

I couldn’t find a photo of a shrew, or a mole. We used to be plagued by moles. They destroyed our back garden.๐

How did you get rid of them. They are a plague here in our yard.

I tried traps and everything, but eventually resorted to a friend with a shotgun! ๐

Weโre dealing with a persistent fox that digs up my begonias. It was at it again last night; caught him on our cameras. Second time this month.

Definitely. Interesting though. I didn’t know that cockatoos like hazelnuts. ๐

I guess they didn’t know either until we white folks introduced them. ๐
