Sworn to protect
Sara,
A young woman
Her whole life
In front of her.
He,
A police officer
In the Met,
Sworn to serve
And protect.
Sara,
A young woman
Her whole life
In front of her,
Abducted,
Raped,
Killed,
By a complete stranger.
Murdered
indiscriminately,
by him,
a cop!
Why?
Who knows?
When will this stop?
For him itβs stopped, at least.

This was a truly shocking case. I guess no profession is entirely safe from psychopaths.

What is truly shocking is that he had a history of indecent exposure and strange behaviour which was never properly investigated. He might have been stopped before his crimes escalated.π

Yes that really is. If it could have been prevented that is awful. Like Ian Huntley.

That poor young woman. As a father I can’t imagine what her family are going through.

yes, unsetting. Sadly there will always be men out there who will do this, but we should prevent those men from becoming policemen.

Horrific and the worst part, this isnβt uncommon, just not always a police officer.

Apparently 51 women in the UK have been killed by males in the time between Sara’s death and the mans trial. Truly horrific.π

Agreed. Well, this poem has raised my awareness, so thank you, Hobbo.
