Hobbo Award AUGUST 2021

Honourable Order of Best Blog Owners

Hi everyone. It’s that time of the month where we give the HOBBO Award (Honourable Order of Best Blog Owners) to the owner of the blog which has kept us the most amused, entertained, informed and sometimes even educated over the past few weeks.

The August award winner of 2021 is (wait for it Dauphy)

Maux & Cris, a blog originally recommended to me by Mr Bump. This French speaking site, run by a man called Regis, is an entertaining and interesting mix of photos, book reviews and journal. Regis, one of the most optimistic guys I have ever read, is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. His journalistic account of his battle with this horrible disease is both interesting and inspirational. Even if, like me, your command of French is limited, this site is well worth a visit. Please do so and support him if you can.

Here is a link to his site;

Congratulations on winning this award! You don’t need to answer any questions or do anything other than give yourself a big pat on the back. It is simply our way of saying thank you for providing us with some interesting posts over the last month.

    • 👍 I have been following him since you recommended him to me. The guy is going through a hard time at the moment, but he stays so positive.

  1. I think my French is a lot worse than limited. I did try to read some. The enthusiastic part of me imagines learning French by making myself translate his blog. But the realistic part of me feels dubious. It sounds and looks like a great blog though!
