Commonality
Some things we all have
in common, I think.
We all like a laugh
and we all eat and drink.
And that internal voice
baying for blood?
Well, we all have a choice
to be evil or good.
What about that internal voice that is horribly immature and precious? I’ve been fighting that one back a lot lately. Nobody knows, tiddly pom, where my bad thought goes, tiddly poem. But all my toes, tiddly poem, they cringe with not showing.
That’s a good one Hobbo.Evil or good indeed.

Thanks Hobbo. When I was younger I was a mixture of both though.

the last two lines really hit home, Hobbo: we do have a choice; it is up to us to take the more humane path —

Lol. I love rhyming poems. This poem reminds me of the phrase “it is our choices that define us, not our proclivities”.
