Climate Madness

Climate madness

Globally,
millions of frustrated,
law-abiding,
ordinary people,
many for the first time in their lives,
are making a stand,
to protest the need for action
to halt climate change.

Internationally,
our governments
listen carefully,
consider
the wishes of their electorate
and the needs of our planet,
and plan to take action
to introduce new legislation
to stop the protests.

    • Maybe it’s not happening in Oz, but legitimate climate change protesters in the UK are going to have their rights curtailed by fresh legislation. πŸ˜’

  1. ooohhhh! I totally misread your poem! Because of the “careful listening” I thought they were listening to their electorate who were saying you need to act and so they were acting and therefore that would stop the protests. But the careful listening was sarcastic? Australia has already introduced laws to try and squash protests… about pretty much anything. Democracy here definitely has a fever and is looking rather peaky.

    • πŸ™‚ It saddens me that instead of using their intelligence and time to tackle climate change, the politicians are turning their energies on the protesters. Ironic frustration, or what!
