Live it big Drink every last drop, sing it loud on the kop, go shop till you drop, have the cream of the crop. Go right to the top, become top of the shop, don't care if it flops, be the pick of the pops. Be-bop till you plop, live it big at the hop but don't ever swap and never let it stop.
Gosh. I’m exhausted just reading about it. π Do I get the chop?

love the gusto of this, the sheer joie de vivre; have to look up ‘kop’: must be a UK variant π

Thanks John. Kop is a home supporters stand in football (soccer).

I am digging your poetry, it’s the kind I would love to hear slammed.

I’m not sure if that’s good or bad, Matt. I’ll take it on the chin, whatever!

Digging is slang for Hobbo that is damn good, slammed is something I have done with poetry. Definitely worthy my friend.

Weirdly this poem reminds of the rap song “Run’s House” by Run-DMC

I’m not really into rap. Is that what you meant by slammed?

Slammed is spoken word performance poetry without music, not exactly rap.

Thanks Matt. Interesting. I always read my stuff out loud to try and make sure it scans and has rhythm. I don’t perform it though, I have a monotonous Yorkshire accent which I think would put people off!π

Well than, perhaps I’ll record a slam of your work in my North East PA Urban Voice…if I have your blessings. And of course full written credit to you.

That would be great; I’d like to hear that. Provided I get written credit and keep copyright of the poem I don’t see a problem.

To my knowledge, nobody else has ever done that with my stuff, so I’d be really interested to hear it! π
