A gull from Oswestry
Built her first nest, re-
lying on twigs from her parents.
This step on the ladder
Worked fine till she had her
Own branch, in the sun, in the Barents.

  1. There’s something about Oswestry that always made me slightly uncomfortable. I don’t believe in ghosts, but if I did, I say that place was haunted.
