The funny side We have to see the funny side, Life's so unjust and never fair. When all the tears we've shed have dried, We have to see the funny side. To view this game, a bit cockeyed, Not wallow in the world's misรจre. We have to see the funny side, To have a laugh, let down our hair.
Oooh such an interesting form. Does it have a name? Or did you make it up? I like it a lot!!

It’s a triolet. I saw one written by K.Hartless last week and thought I’d have a go. If I’ve got it right, it is 8 lines of 8 syllables, rhyming pattern, abaaabab, first, fourth and seventh line repeat.

Well you’ve done a wonderful job because it totally enthralled me. I loved your use of repetition.

I hope I got it right. If you check out K’s blog, she is much more adept than me.

I remember her triolet. I loved it too. I must try the form myself. Just wondering if my post tonight (only just posted) would work better in a form involving repetition…

that song from ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’ expressed it well: ‘Keep on the Sunny Side’ and o, that little melody from ‘Life of Brian’. ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Things’ with jaunty whistle accompaniment ๐

and your poem, too , Hobbo; all adds to the merry mix; to see the world ‘cock-eyed’ is perhaps the answer ๐
